Mark brings over 20 years of gaming industry experience to WDTS. Mark has focused on forming strategic relationships with competitors and suppliers as well as enabling and protecting innovation through patent creation, licensing, and enforcement.

Mark began his career in gaming at Anchor Gaming where he was responsible for the patenting and enforcement of Anchor’s industry-changing bonus wheel and the structuring and management of the Anchor Gaming-IGT joint venture for the Wheel of Fortune slots. Also while at Anchor, Mark was one of six founding members of the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM). On behalf of AGEM, he negotiated the business terms of the deal between REID Exhibitions and AGEM to form the G2E trade show.

Mark was also instrumental in forming an intellectual property consortium among IGT (NYSE: IGT), Anchor Gaming, MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM), and Bally Technologies Inc. (NYSE: BYI) for the ticket-in, ticket-out (TITO) technologies. Mark then acted on behalf of the consortium as the licensor of the TITO technologies to the entire gaming industry. After the IGT/Anchor Gaming merger, Mark generated hundreds of millions in licensing revenues on behalf of the consortium. He also negotiated many of the third-party content deals for IGT, including the original deal bringing High 5 Games to IGT.

After IGT, Mark served as the Executive Director of IP Development and Licensing for WMS Industries Inc. (NYSE: WMS). At WMS, Mark formed IP alliances with various gaming suppliers and assisted with two successful litigations to enforce one alliance’s IP rights. Mark also created a third party content program for WMS and developed a network of third party content suppliers.

Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Brigham Young University and subsequently earned an MBA from UNLV and a JD from the Boyd School of Law. Mark is a member of the Licensing Executives Society where he co-founded and co-chaired the Gaming Committee in the High Tech Sector.
